Class Placement Requests for Upcoming School Year 2024-2025

We are approaching the time of year when we begin to think about class placements for the following school year.   It is important to us at Windham Primary
that we build classroom profiles across our building that provide equity of services to all students.

An attempt is made to honor requests under the following conditions because we try to find the optimal learning conditions for each child.

The principal will make the final determination for class placement and may not be able to honor every request based on other factors that need to be considered when
creating class lists. Please be aware that teacher assignments may need to change late into the summer, which will impact class lists.

A lack of request will have no effect on the care and quality of education given to each child.

Just as each child is unique, so is each teacher. An experience that other parents or students may have had with a teacher may be totally different from what your child
could have with the same teacher.

Parents request for specific teachers are not accepted.  An exception to this practice would be when parents have had first-hand interaction with the teacher.  An example of
first-hand interaction with a teacher is a sibling having a positive experience with the teacher and, then parents requesting this same teacher for their other child.
Please submit your request by May 8th.  Late requests will not be considered.
Next Year's Teacher will be communicated on or around July 12th for grades 1-3 and on or around August 2nd for Kindergarten.
 
Many factors are considered when developing class lists including but not limited to academic and social considerations,
total class size, and male/female ratio.
